Hercules Pillars drain in North Ryde, Sydney

Hercules Pillars is a nick name given to a drain located in North Ryde, New South Wales. The drain is popular amongst urban explorers and it would be to no surprise that if you were to explore this drain you would run into other groups of people whilst down there. The starting point for this exploration is in Wicks Road North Ryde, opposite the SES building.

Below (pictured) is the starting point of our guided tour. As far as Urban exploration is concerned this would have to be one of the most explorable drains in Sydney.

From here we will head west into the first tunnel which starts at the end of this picture.

  1. yeah where abouts in wick rd is this place? ive emailed north ryde council and they gave me 137-141 wicks rd but i cant find this canal? do you have to open a manhole or something? i dont live around the area so saves me some time doing background info. thanks.
